Rebutia species are often self-fertile, meaning they can set seeds without needing a second plant for cross-pollination.
- Winter care: A cooler winter dormancy period is crucial for blooming in the spring. Protect from prolonged freezing temperatures.
- During the growing season (spring/summer): Water thoroughly, but only when the soil is completely dry. During the dormant season (fall/winter): Drastically reduce watering, only watering lightly if the plant begins to shrivel.
- Feeding: Fertilize once a month during the active growing season with a diluted, low-nitrogen cactus fertilizer. DO NOT FERTILIZE during the dormant season.
