Gymnocalycium baldianum - DWARF CHIN CACTUS
Gymnocalycium is a genus of South American cacti, commonly called "chin cactus," known for its smooth, hairless flower buds and easy care. While many species are small, they are prized by enthusiasts for their striking globular form and beautiful flowers. The genus is also famously the source of the brightly colored "Moon Cactus".

Name Meaning: Gymnocalycium: Greek gymnos, "naked" + kalyx, "calyx" or "bud", referring to the smooth, hairless, and spineless flower buds; baldianum: honoring J. Baldi, an acquaintance and supporter of the Italian-Argentine botanist Carlos Luis Spegazzini, who first described the cactus in 1905.
