- Grow this variety in very bright sunlight to induce tighter leaf curling. This is a winter-growing bulb that goes dormant and loses its leaves each summer after blooming. Keep the bulb dry through its summer dormancy and resume watering as the leaves re-sprout in fall.
- In the spring, when this plant sends up flower stalks, it often causes the tips of the leaves to brown. This is a natural occurrence. If you don’t want this to happen, simply remove the flower stalks as soon as they start to grow to prevent leaf tip browning.
